Natural leave out, Silk Base Closure, Lace Closure or Frontal?? May 19 2019, 0 Comments
Ok my HairAholics, just curious... which do you prefer when you getting your install.... natural leave out, a silk base closure, lace closure or frontal?
Tell me why...
What are Closures? May 01 2019, 0 Comments
Q: I’ve been wearing a full head of weave, but my natural hair that’s left out on top to cover the tracks doesn’t blend well now that my hair is brittle and breaking due to constant curling and pressing. My friend mentioned trying a hair closure, so I looked at a few videos on YouTube about lace closures but I still don’t totally understand how it works. Can you break this down?
A: Closures refer to a light weight 3.5”x 3.5” oblong or circle shaped lace that has hair attached to it. They are placed in the “horseshoe” area at the top or side of a weave to close off the style. It allows the wearer to wear a full weave, with none of the natural hair left out, yet provides the illusion of a scalp. So, if you’re having trouble with blending your natural hair, bald spots, thinning edges and breakage, closures are the best alternative.
The average price of a closure usually range from $85-$250 and once attached it will last for about 8-12 weeks (depending on construction and the care given). Besides protecting your hair that was left out from styling damage, closures literally “seals the deal” to give you a natural looking hairline, and almost flawless weave without exposing your hair.
In my opinion ladies, if you like to keep it spicy and change up your look often... keep your natural locks healthy, lace or silk base closures are the best in creating a realistic looking scalp, and the illusion of the hair growing right out of your head!
Closure pieces come in every texture you could possible think of from Silky Straight Remy to Afro-Curly Mongolian. So let your hair down and experiment with different textures that you usually shy away from due to the difficulty of trying to create that perfect blend.
Remember ladies, your hair is your absolute best accessory!
